I initially used both the KAK barrel 8" match stainless and BCG in my build.

Love the barrel, super accurate for the length and round.

Only issues were with the bolt. Initial bolt snapped the extractor on round 5. KAK promptly replaced no questions asked. I had a FTE problem that haunted my build. Decided to replace the bolt, not a single issue since. I do have a bolt rebuild kit (spring and extractor), haven't tried it to narrow down what the issue was...

What bolt did you replace the KAK with?

But $40 a pop. But if you run multiple calibers like I do, may be cheaper in the long run if you can reliably run three or four different calibers from the same mag.
I'm already stocked up on mags but I'm tempted to try one.
    Never heard of these.

Although pricey, they seem to be useful for multiple calibers.

From my research, the only reliable x39 mag are C-products which are $17 at AimSurplus. So basically you can buy 2 of the C-prod mags for one Unimag. I don't like the weird curve of the C-prod, but since its cheap and reliable I don't mind.

I have an update on the Unimags. The four new gen 2 mags that I purchased all functioned 100% when loaded with 25rds of 7.62x39. They're way easier to work with than the other types with the strong banana bend. I'd say that you can buy the Unimags with confidence. Just make sure that you get the new gen 2 version. Primary Arms has them on sale right now.

Now that you've run the unimags for a few months, are they still at 100%?

Yes. Windham 7.62x39 AR15 + Wolff extra power hammer spring + Gen2 Unimags = 100%. The banana magazine that came with the Windham AR15 also works 100%.

The CPD mags are working fine in mine so far, only 240 rounds total, but no issue's. That's 5rd, 10 rd, 20rd and a 30rd.
