anyone have an ACOG x4 magnification that regret buying it or just ended up selling it? im thinking of trading a top of the line ar pistol for a TA01NSN. is it worth the money or should I just stick with my Aimpoint Red Dot?

Love my ta31, depends on your shooting style though
Personally I wouldn't take an Acog without fiberoptics though, the TA01 is tritium only
The fiber optic is really needed if you want to use like a red dot
If you want longer range precision, ta01 will give you that but slower up close
With fiber optic it's possibly a bit less precise, but this is a combat optic with a good comprimise for long short with the red/green fiber grabbing your eyes
100yards in run and gun only.? Meh keep the aimpoint

I have one that I am selling, not because I regret buying it or that it's bad, I just have a hard time using magnification on a carbine. That, and I also have a difficult time pulling off the Bindon aiming concept with it.
98% Sarcastic. 100% Overthinking things and making up reasons for buying a new firearm.
I really like the TA33 3X for a combat sight, better eye relief, easier to use like a red dot with both eyes open and a little mag for longer shots.
I have three 4X ACOGs and they get used regularly and aren't about to be replaced. I actually replaced a pair of 1-4 Nightforces with two TA31H-Gs.
I've used the NSN ACOG a lot and it ain't much to write home about. The stadia lines too busy with the 100 and 200 Meter hash marks. It would be better if they just started at 200 and went from there.
The Chevron is great at 100, sucks hard at 200, is fine at 300 and out.
The Horseshoe Dot is where it's at. The dot is like a 4X Aimpoint out to 200, the BDC is like a scope from 300 and out. I love 'em.
I agree, except I haven't been able to use it with both eyes open. It seems to be the best compromise between a magnified optic and an RDS. At close range the reticle can be used like a red dot. The magnification and rudimentary range-finding capability to me just make this the best all-around optic. The only drawback is that the magnification really amplifies unsteadiness and so it's not as fast to utilize as an RDS.
how about a eotech hws with a 3x magnifier?
I have a TA31H that I like a lot. But for shooting steel out to 200M and 3-Gun scenarios I'll stick with the Aimpoint.
