    CZ 805 Bren Carbine Review

I've had this sucker in for a while and finished up my review; here are my thoughts....

    Pros:
    -100% reliable to date
-solid trigger for a military rifle
-decent accuracy with various loads (seen in video)
    -CHF, CL pencil profile barrel
-takes all AR mags that I know of
-standard and 'adverse conditions' gas setting
    -aftermarket parts are becoming available
-fit and finish are VERY nice

    Cons:
    -front heavy
-charging handle location may cause you to bang your hand up when charging it
    -no bolt release
    -Cost

    No bolt release? That's odd

In the same way that neither an M1 rifle, M1 carbine, or M14 has a bolt release. No separate release as the M16 platform requires because of the placement of its charging handle. Note that @6:10 when the bolt is locked back while changing magazines all that is required is a slight pull to the rear to release the bolt catch.

I appreciate the effort you put into this review but this just doesnt seem like something I really want the more I hear about it.

Might as well get a SCAR and I'm not really into SCARs really.

But good for collectors or Czechnophiles I imagine

Thanks for the review. I'm not the got to have one right now type, but I'll buy one once the price gets down to a stable point.

Or those wishing to have a reference collection of AR18-based rifles.

I would take this gun over a SCAR.

True. But I have an AR-180.

Why can't they just make new AR-180s?

The ACR seemed like it could've been one but was just executed poorly.

They can, but there's not enough of a market for them. They're not expensive now anyway. You can get one in nice shape for less than an ACR or this Bren.
