I assume you mean to mod the existing bolt hold open to function as a bolt release as well. No, the g36/retro mag well bolt hold open works just like the STANAG one.

I love my pistol, I was blown away by how smooth this thing is, you don't feel the mass of the bolt carrier reciprocating nearly as much as you do with the SCAR. I'm going to form 1 this asap.
    I paint spaceship parts.

Yes, exactly. Thanks for the info.

I picked up my new Bren 805 carbine today for $1347 out the door. As already stated, it's smooth and appears very well machined.

Now I need something to see though. Is there some sort of optic that the Czech military uses?

I have a bren 805. I have about 300-400 down the pipe. Upon cleaning the gas tube I noticed fairly substantial erosion around one of the holes in the gas tube. Some owners have said they have no erosion. Does anyone else have a rifle that shows that sort of erosion. Also, once or twice I have had hot particles hit my left cheek when shooting the rifle. That was strange. I am starting to wonder about this rifle.

Sounds like you have it on the wrong gas setting.

Rifle was on the correct setting. CZ bought it back from me.

Why didn't they just replace the gas tube?

Probably wanted to inspect why it was eroding.
