    Spray Paint Over GunKote

How well does GunKote take spray paint? I have an opportunity to acquire a Vltor MUR in either anodized black or else factory FDE GunKote at equal cost. I will be painting the rifle eventually; I figured having an FDE base would be nice as the paint wears off, but I'd rather just go with the plain anodized finish if the spray paint won't adhere as well to the GunKote compared to the anodizing.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

If by spray paint you mean rattle can paint it doesn't stick worth a damn to either. If you mean cerakote it doesn't matter wich one you pick because the finnish and or anodizing will be blasted off anyway. I would flip a coin.

I have one of the Vltor fde mur uppers and the gunkote has chipped off quite a bit. It is more durable than regular spray paint, but not by much. I haven't sprayed over it, so I'm unsure how well it'd hold paint, but it seems to have a slick finish.
