    Low profile gas block suggestions?

Gonna put one on my 6920 for the free float rail. What brand/style do you guys recommend? I see they have clamp on, set screw, ect...

Steel set screw block from a quality brand, knurled set screws, dimple barrel, red loctite.

2nd the above except I would suggest rocksett instead of Loctite. It is possible to get a barrel/gas block to the Loctite release temperature without too much difficulty.

For a 6920 I'd shave the pinned FSB and be done with it.

Ditto. It's already pinned and properly located that way.

Only reason not to is if you're not sure about keeping the FF rail. In that case I would get a basic clamping or set screw block to use temporarily to try it out, then go back and shave the original FSB once you're happy with the setup.

I never even considered just shaving the fsb down. Good idea! I'll probably do that. Once I install the quad rail, there's no going back, lol. I had one on my other 6920, so I know what I'm getting into as far as weight, ect...

Thanks for the link. That's the one I'll go with if I go that route.

If you buy a handguard that doesn't use the USGI barrel nut, you have to remove the FSB anyway.

The nice thing about NOT shaving it down is being able to reuse it if you decide to go back to a FSB someday.

People get wrapped around the axle about using pinned GBs under free float HGs. It's not necessary.

I've shaved two of them, and it's an easy enough job.

But I think I know a guy with the perfect solution for someone who isn't sure if they want to ever go back lol
