They might put out a lemon, but at least they fix it if they do. Colt pretty much gave me the finger...

We sell lots of Colt 1911's. Never had one returned. With that said ALL manufacturers put out a lemon. If you think STI has never had a bad gun get out, I have some Delta issued guns that were all scrapped. ALL of them.

I've owned two Springfield 1911's, and both had out of the box extractor issues. I once bought a new in the box Series 70 which malfunctioned because it erroneously been fitted with a .38 Super ejector. Quality can vary from one run to the next. Every maker cranks out guns that slip past QC--some more than others. I could write a book on this.

Doubtful as well. Not really sure what the problem is. Does your gun not shoot??

I wish colt would checker their guns front strap ..at least ones that break the $1000 mark.

The COMBAT Unit guns are checkered.
