No Frills quality 20" A2

I used Watco Danish Oil for the finish. I then applied Feed-N-Wax conditioner/polish (Beeswax and Orange Oil). There was no fitting required. They pre-fit everything. There is some final sanding and buffing that has to be done before applying the finish. Ironwood Designs has detailed instructions on their website as well as recommended sanding and finishing products and techniques.

I might have to do this... It just looks so good, and I already have the Watco Danish Oil.

I'm also looking to build a quality 20" A2. Would love to see or hear about any other builds out there. Still trying to figure out a build sheet for mine, but really like the low profile non roll marked lowers. Not sure on barrel yet. Gonna keep an eye on this thread.

Take a look at McKay Enterprises for a non-rollmarked A2 lower. I have used a few of theirs. I used one on the wood AR build.

They are currently out of stock, but they do seem to replenish within a few weeks.

I tried finding an A2 just like my old Bushmaster A2 HBAR over the past several months, but I finally gave up. Finding anything with a 20" barrel and A2 upper receiver w/fixed carry handle is quite a challenge these days. I understand the A3/A4 uppers are more practical, but some of us have enough tactical ARs as it is and want to take a trip down memory lane once in awhile.

Bushmaster, Del-Ton and Stag still show them on their websites I believe, but none are ever in stock anywhere I have looked. Except for maybe Bushmaster I believe they also have non-chromed lined barrels as well.

Not sure if you're still looking but there are 2 up on Armslist right now. First one just listed today.

Thanks, but I already emptied out the piggy bank when I picked up an A1 this month. Maybe next year, if Hillary hasn't managed to ban them by that time.

I just got done building(assembling) these two. They are both sporting Sabre Defence barrels that I stumbled upon. All I can say is that they shoot fantastic.

My favorite uppers and lowers is Aero Precision. They also offer this barrel. It's a future build. I already have an Armalite National Match lower to put it on.
