Need help finding manufacture date of my vintage A5

    Title says it.

I've looked over the Internet, but different pages have conflicting info.

Can anyone help me date this A5?

    ETA...

    Apparently a 58 model.

It appears that the methodology of assigning a serial number to the A5 has changed throughout the history of this gun, which was causing confusion on my part.

    Thanks

1958 is correct. Did you state that the shotgun is a 20 ga? I assumed it was 12, but then found the serial number in the 20 ga range for 1958. About 1953 Browning ceased serial numbering barrels to frames. I can't interpret your barrel markings but can say there is no guarantee that the barrel is original in that it left the factory installed on your gun. I suggest that you remove the slip on pad and inspect the stock area under it.

I didn't get a chance to study your pictures (out to dinner) but here's a link right from Browning's website.
