SIONICS/ Centurion Arms 16" Midlength Carbine

Finally was able to finish up my latest midlength carbine after being on the road and getting all of my parts in order.

    1. SIONICS M4 MILSPEC Upper Receiver with Forward Controls Design LDFA.

    2. SIONICS 16" Midlength 1/8 twist XR/MPI barrel with 5.56 chamber. (Atlanta PD overrun) with BCM Mod 0 comp.

    3. Centurion Arms 13.5" CMR MLOK Rail.

    4. SIONICS M4 Lower Receiver with enhanced trigger, Forward Controls Design ABC/R and EMR, Vltor A5 with H3 buffer, and Tango Down BG-18 grip.

    5. B5 Systems SOPMOD Stock

    6. Magpul MBUS PRO Sights, MVG and rail covers.

    7. SIONICS NP3 carrier group.

This is also very similar to the carbine students will be able to build in the SIONICS/Semper Paratus Arms Builder's Course.

That looks real light and handy. Looking at the pictures I would swear that was an 18" barrel. Congrats and nice build.

Curious why the H3 buffer? (and if you've tested it for proper cycling with that barrel / gas port)

    Light? Meh, it's about average.

Not sure if I really need to answer that one.

That's a solid looking piece, goes without saying it runs better!

Yeah that's pretty sweet. I'm always interested in seeing how you guys that do this for a living set a rifle up.

On a side note...all one color? You feeling ok?

    Slick little shooter.

I'd imagine that it runs smooth as silk with the A5 and heavy buffer.

Is there any particular reason that Sionics chooses to chrome line their barrels and not go with a nitride finish? Industry standard / Customer requirements? Tooling already in place?

I actually considered a rattle can, but I have others. The rail covers are actually Magpul grey, as is the MVG, but they don't stand out as much as the BCM grey.

Chrome lined barrels still seem to outsell Melonite/Nitride, etc.. And they work.

Looks great either way. I'm sure she'll function even better.
