A lightweight rifle for a friend's daughter
This will be the third rifle I've built for this particular gentleman, although on this project he really left a lot of it for me to decide. His goals were: a) under $1000, b) good quality, c) relatively lightweight, d) good looking from a woman's perspective. He provided a lower, upper, barrel, and BCG, the rest was left up to me.
To start I asked his daughter (23) what color she would like most and she said pink or red. Pink was going to be tough so she decided on red by useing FDE parts dyed with cherry red rit dye. Overally the package came in just over $1k after optic which was left off for the photos. In the end this gun will be used more for recreational purposes than defense or hunting, but other than the color I am confident it would handle either very well.

In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear;
and safe is such confiding, for nothing changes here:
the storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid;
but God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?
