Yes, I've heard it had an original movie inspiration.
I do not intend to follow up on this until at least this first season on HBO ends, for the same reason that I haven't read the GOT books yet- if it's better than the TV show, or gives something away, it'll ruin the whole thing.

Personally I thought the amount of boobage was well balanced.

I was excited for this show ever since I saw the preview for it earlier this year. Love the concept. Very interested in seeing where this goes and what the man is black is after.

I saw the original movie when I was a kid. Loved it.

I don't have HBO, so I'll wait for it to come out on Amazon and just binge watch. Looks good. I think Ed Harris will do Yul Brenner justice.

It better get better, faster. Concept is sound, and they are laying a lot of ground work.

Seems like that is every HBO series. Very slow at first, laying a bunch of ground work.

I just watched E1 it & certainly an interesting / bizarre flick...have to see how it progresses before passing judgement. Have to say the acting was impressive & got a kick of what I caught as an Ozzy / Black Sabbath tune via orchestra.

I watched the first 2 episodes today. I couldn't take hearing the news any more. I think this has the makings of a great show, they are laying the foundation for the whole concept in these first shows so it was a little slower at times than I like. But I think it was needed for how involved I think they are going to make the plot.

I loved the original which I saw as a kid. Yul Brynner was like the energizer bunny - he was relentless. The opening credits of this new Westworld reminded me of the opening to 'Ghost in the Shell':

I also noticed the music. Loved that element. I noticed this on season one of Mr Robot too...

Think they also did "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones.
