I need to know what size allen wrench is needed to remove it. sorry I should have been more clear
Quick google search turns up 3/16". I can confirm/correct when I get home from work. Don't have it memorized as I just grab the one that i always do from my clamshell multi size carrier.

thank you I wasn't sure all ars were the same
If it's 1/2x28 it's probably going to be 1/4"
But those screws are/can be, different based on the -grip- , not based on the lower.
Plus it's usually a cap screw which would be a bigger wrench like probably 3/8"
Don't you have a set of wrenches?
I have a round head hex screw here that's 5/32" and 4mm also fits it. I think it's s TD grip.
Just to be clear... the "Button" head type as seen top left of the 6 styles.

Also I think that screw is 1/4x28 not 1/2x28.
The drive for a 1/4x28 socket head cap screw is 3/16" per Grainger site. But, the Button head is 5/32"
So does yours look like
This - 5/32" drive

or This - 3/16" drive

If you are going to use these often save yourself a lifetime of heartache and buy a set like this.

You can use them in some tight places and even with a torque wrench.
3/16" is what I use for mine. Just confirmed.
