Is the gas block seat ~1" or ~2"? I see images showing both.

Take that shit elsewhere. This thread is not the place for it.

I'd definitely be interested in a pinned option. Despite the fact that I'm sorta ticked at you because I thought I didn't really need another AR build!

    It's around an inch long.

While FSBs are great, they're also very heavy and don't complement the design objectives for these barrels very well.

The extended gas system length also generally precludes a FSB in front of the rail.

These barrels are intended for use only with a low pro gas block under a free float rail.

Hence the elimination of the handguard cap shoulder and the short gas block journal.

I would be interested in the install/pin job.

"BRT barrels are designed to work best with the following buffer systems: Carbine H2, VLTOR A5H2 and Rifle."

Re: the Vltor buffer. That's that the ~5.3oz A5 buffer, right? Any idea on how well the A5H1 (~4.6oz) buffer might work?

Or, on the flip side, a -3 or -4?
BTW, you have my undivided attention here.

Considering that they recommend the - 2, I'd say you're probably on your on if you go heavier. It *may* work, but it also might be more ammo sensitive.

I'd be surprised if you saw any issues with a -1, except for a slightly higher carrier velocity. The A5 is so forgiving, that I'd expect to run anyway. In my experience, a gun that will push a standard H2, usually doesn't have trouble with an A5H3 though.

Our buffer recommendation is a starting point to set user expectations.

We routinely test with a range of buffers from a custom spring biased 2.4 oz "CAR 2S" buffer all the way up to a 6.15 oz "R7" rifle buffer.

They all function, but there are differences in how they feel and where they throw brass.

What kinds of performance accuracy wise would be a reasonable expectation?

    What about barrel life?
