Added a 5" Pro Series to the fold.

I really like the M&P9 4.25" I bought in August. Decided to get a 5" Pro as well

Very good trigger and sights vs standard gun, though it still needs an Apex FSS.
Sights are, as most know Novak plain flat target rear and green fiber optic front, nice.

    2016 Guns are improved, the 4.25" is a May 16 build, the 5" a June 16 build
Trigger pull on the 4.25" rated at 6½# but is really 8½#. Apex has it at a nice 4½ lb pull

The Pro Series S&W claims 4½ to 5½, my Lyman digital shows 6½ consistently.
Reset on both is good, audible and felt.

BONUS, I get to have a Pro Series back strap on the standard gun!

Slide markings odd, no "L" after M&P9 and Pro Series not script like the catalog shows current guns.

Also, anyone know why the Pro still uses the IL sear housing/frame?

Well, I was just going to install an Apex FSS flat trigger kit in this Pro Series like I
have in my standard M&P9, but I read on the performance center website the following:

    • 4-5-1/2 lb. Smooth Trigger Pull

That's BS, this trigger sucks. The trigger bar is hanging up on the SBS & it's pulling 6½# to 7#
I'm going to call them in the morning and ask WTF.
This is what your putting out to compete with the Glock 34? Supposed to be a target pistol.

The pro series have the triggers worked over and come with different sights. The 9L's come in the same configurations as the full size except for the longer slide.

Did you read post 3? My problem IS the trigger that's supposed to be "enhanced" by the PC.
I'm well aware of what the difference is between a standard 9L and Pro Series 5" gun

And 9L applies to all 5" guns, except Current production Pro it seems

The early Pro Series and the current PC Ported guns both say 9L where the current Pro Series does not.

Early Pro with cursive & 9L then Current Pro like mine, then Ported PC.

I'm going off my own m&p. It's a non pro 9L, sorry. Sounds like you should have just purchased a non pro since you were going to replace the trigger anyway. Could have saved a few bucks.

I would have, but you have to be LE now to buy the standard 9L. Discontinued for consumer purchase.

Plus I don't like the angled muzzle.

Sent this back to S&W, they sent me a Fed Ex 2 day label

I should know something next week hopefully.

CS rep agreed a Performance Center gun should not have a questionable trigger.

I have one of the 4.5" Pros. I think it's pretty nice and the trigger is nice enough that I don't feel like I have to drop $150+ more on aftermarket parts.

I don't have a pull gauge or I'd measure it for you. I can tell you it's much better than my buddy's 'regular' M&P.

Yes, my M&P9 FS had a 9 lb pull, so I just installed a FSS.

This Pro was 7 lbs, and if it is 4-5 lbs like they say when I get it back
    I'll leave it alone.

I pick up my new C.O.R.E M&P9L tomorrow, we'll see how that works out.
