Exactly! I already have a slew of extra frames so it's far from permanent. If a little cerakote is what it takes to get a gal to take an interest / ownership of a pistol then I'm all for it. Like I said, for me it was an easy choice, so we got her the 320 and she couldn't be happier. She loves it, shoots it great and I'm confident she's got a quality firearm.

Whichever 9mm semi automatic from a known trusted manufacturer that SHE can:

    - Hit the mag release with her firing hand thumb.

    - Function the slide lock with her firing hand thumb.

    - Cycle the slide with either hand.

    - Has a range of good quality aftermarket accessories available for it.

Thanks for all the info . We will start with my 3 a M&P 9 I'll put on the small grip on.
Then my shield 9 last my .380 bodyguard ( I think it's to much recoil and it's a pocket gun )
From there we will go to the gun store to look . I told her when she 21 I'll buy her one .
We have six months and this give us some time to learn on what's best.

Great plan. Try to get her some time on a glock 19 or 17 as well. I don't know why, but some people do really well with them right off the bat.

FWIW my wife and her friend both have had issues with a Glock 19 at the range. They're limp-wristing for sure but the easy answer was to have them use VP9s.

Back from range today with my bodyguard .380 , shield 9 and full size M&P 9
She did not like the recoil or trigger on the bodyguard and the full size to heavy .
She likes the shield . But has a hard time racking the thing.
Stoped and looked at a ruger lcps9, Glock g43 the 43 was easier for her to rack .
    Next rent a g43 and G19 .

Wouldnt base it on hard to rack unless she has a physical handicap. 99% of issues racking a handgun can be solved with establishing good techniques, practicing those techniques and continued training and practice. The Shield does have a fairly strong recoil spring but its nothing a healthy Adult of either sex can't use effectively.

Yes I was thinking of getting some snap caps and let her practice with mine.
    Shield is $100 less .
