Post Gun newbie first AR-15 Speadsheet

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and am quite a gun newbie. I'm planning on building my first AR-15 and have made an Excel spreadsheet of possible parts I'll use to build the gun. I was wondering if some of you could look over the spreadsheet and give me your two cents, as well as perhaps recommend me parts you've had a good experience with. Thanks!

Overall not a bad list. A good gun needs a good lower, fire control, BCG and barrel. You're allocating money to things that are unnecessary or "nice to have" (like a $180 muzzle break) but skimping on really important stuff like the optic and potentially the BCG. I don't know what the Anderson BCG standards are, just guessing that maybe they're not as good as, say, Colt, DD, or BCM for $90. Get a standard, known-good lower receiver like (from GandRtactical) instead of the the 80%. 80% receivers are a fun project but you want to start your first build with a known-good lower. Again, BCM makes a good lower. I'd skip all the ambi stuff especially until you can competently run a standard, as-issued AR so you can always pick up and AR and run it. Are you a lefty? If you're not left-handed that goes double. For instance, ambi mag releases are a liability because the weak side release can bump up against your kit and drop your mag without you realizing it. If anything just add a basic ambi safety. As an alternative, if you're really married to the whole ambi thing, just get a nice lower with ambi controls built in right up front. It'll work better than bolt-ons. I really like Lancer's lower but there are other out there like KAC if you want to spent the money.

Skip the brass deflector, battery assist device, and ambi mag catch. I'd get an Arisaka Defense light, hands down. There are tons of optics out there but Aimpoint is the gold standard.

You obviously want to build and I can totally relate but since you want a KMR rail anyway consider getting a factory BCM upper built by them. You'll eliminate a lot of potential issues just by going with a high quality lower and factory-built upper. Also, consider that for the price you could get a really nice factory-built gun like a 2A Arms Balios or KAC SR-15

Don't spend $20 apiece on Lancer mags. They're great mags but you can find them cheaper.
