Southern Precision Rifle 6.5 Creedmoor build

Been running my new build from Greg for about 6 months..
    Damned, I love this rifle..
    Flat out amazing.

    Defiance Deviant action
Mueller Rifle Works cut rifle barrel, Sendero profile, 22″
    Badger bottom metal
    Cerakoted black graphite
    Huber Concepts 2 stage trigger
McMillan A5A stock in Mcmillan camo
    Steiner Military 5-25×56
    Talley tactical rings
    Crux brake and Nemesis30 silencer
    Plano Tactical case

It groups numerous 140/143g loads all to the same point of impact and the overal group is under an inch.

Hornady 143 ELDx is running 2656 FPS and cuts one hole groups. Hits on 12″ plates are easy at 1K and it is devastating on pigs and deer. The 140 ELD match is pretty much the same thing except I don’t use match bullets on deer. 140 AMAX and Winchester 140 match also cut one ragged hole groups.

There is nothing I want to change on the gun and for me.. that says a lot.

I love the stock, the action, the trigger, the optics and of course the barrel.

Took a buddy out, first time shooting past 100 yards and had him making first round hits at 1K

That big grin! oh yeah, that’s what a GREAT rifle does to a man.

Beautiful rifle. I am currently trying to get together funds to get my first custom built. Will very similar to your but in a manners T6A/T4A.

Action will be a deviant tactical or a Stiller tac 30. Haven't decided yet.

The deviant actions are so tight that it actually made the bolt a little difficult to run in the one I shot. Maybe just a little slop of the Tac 30 wouldn't be so bad.

I shoot both of those actions. While the machining on the defiant is nicer, they are very tight. Both of them can shoot 1 hole. I would save 400 bucks and go stiller for a first gun.

    tac 30/bartlien/manners

How does your huber trigger compare to a jewell ?

I really the Defiant action, I don't think it is overly tight at all.
It is built to Greg's specifications so.. perhaps there is something to that, I don't know.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind the Stiller either, I can get either for 1/2 of retail, so, the price delta wasn't that much.

Yeah, you can order an action from Defiance with whatever tolerances/specs you want as well.

Mine isn't overly tight at all. Works great.

I buy all my barrels from Southern Precision. Good folks.
    They keep a solid inventory.
