    Counting coup:

The Buffalo and Speed Goat were only "shot" with my camera after a bit of crawling...

    Nice L.R.
Love the 5". Your first photo of the 5" appears to have a green, FO FS?
If so, that would be an ideal hunting revolver in my book.

I certainly won't argue the longer barrels are much easier- if you're "threading the needle".
The skinny barrel, 4" in a .4X caliber handgun is more difficult for me to shoot precisely, but it's easier to pack.

One of the Industry Professionals here, Wayne Dobbs, does a lot of deer and hog hunting with a wheel gun. I'll ask him to chime in when he has a chance.

I love the pics you gentlemen are posting, they warm my heart.

    Yes,

The first 5" Model 29 is an old 29-2 that came from the factory as an 8& 3/8ths" barrel. It ended up spending it's life in Montana before I got ahold of it, and moved it slightly west. I had SDM Fabricating customize it. That included cutting the barrel back to 5"s, installing a Classic/DX style interchangeable front sight system, narrowing and smoothing the wide target trigger, for DA shooting. It is hands down, my favorite .44.
