To my knowledge, and anecdotally, DD commercial MK18's appear to have the same gas port they've always had. Ie, Mk18 ports are .080 and not .069. Anyone have any info to the contrary?

Is this an actual recall or simply a case of warranty repair and good customer service?

Not a recall, just hearsay at this point.

.080" seems to be standard. I have an FN double chrome lined with .080, and my Aero 10.5 is .080 as well. In my opinion .080 is too big without a suppresser... forget adding a can to the mess.

It's all about running the Tula guys! They have a .080 gasports because they know most of this shop for ammo at Walmart!

I need to fix the misinformation in my post below. I checked the email correspondence I saved with an individual high up in the food chain at DD when I was going through my Mk18 warranty woes.

I was advised their commercial 10.3 barrels are .081, NOT .083.

    I apologize for the misinformation.

Many of us who only use high quality milspec ammo have experienced the opposite due to overgas headaches.

I called up Daniel Defense to ask their gas port sizes for 14.5" carbine length gas systems. The tech said they were .067" across the board for 14.5" carbine lengths. I thought DD was following mil-spec gas port sizing for 14.5 and 16 carbine length gas systems. Since when did they start opening up their gas ports for the dirt clod shooting crowd? Looks like Im going to have to ditch daniel defense for my barrel needs.

pony do you have that email address for the DD rep, I want to make sure this info is correct from someone higher up.
