    Question: Single Shot AR Upper?

I have an engineer friend looking to build a custom AR. He has a complete lower that does not have the magazine well cut out and wants to build a single shot upper to fire 6.5 Creedmore. What options does he have and who can he contact to make this happen? Any info would be appreciated.

Understand that this won't make sense to some, but he really wants a single shot AR and is looking for help in getting the correct upper assembly to make this happen.

    Thanks!

Get a barrel without a gas port drilled. Instant single-shot rifle.

Edit: though loading it will be a pain...have to drop in each round from the side.

    To all concerned.

The custom build area is a place to show off/discuss and ask questions and get feedback about your completed custom build (this means a completed AR that is functional and already completed). If you are going to post pictures of your build, please post a complete picture not just your parts, partial lowers, etc....

Also, buying an upper separate and then a lower and throwing them together does not constitute a custom build. It would be nice if you took time to explain how you came to your decision and explain your set up. Thanks.

If you do not follow the guidelines and your post disappears it's probably because it was moved to the trash or deleted.
