I have a 700 custom with 18 inch proof barrel 1-10 twist it loves heavier bullets 175 smk, 178 amax, 185gr bergers. all mag length. shoots 1/2 moa groups with them all id have to say the 178 amax shoot the best for me.

the goal is to find what works best for YOUR particular rifle, then stick with it. if you reload and 178AMAX is best, then work with different loadings, staying within SAAMI specs of course. rock on !!
