    IAC Hawk 982, cheaper and better made than recent production Rem 870 express models.

    Mossberg 500s or 590 SPX if you don't mind the extra length and weight.

    Second, this thought, you can pick these up on the cheap and the have the same rotating head bolt - the "super" expensive ones have. Action is easy and quick. I have a Nova and a Super Nova no SD experience but plenty of trigger time, hunting, clays and just playing. Best of luck on your decision.     I ran a 590A1 through a shotgun course with no problem. Between it and my plain 500 I would consider either acceptable for HD.

    If you are on a budget, a used 500 (or 590) can't really be beat for the cost. I paid $290 new for my 500. Today you should be able to find a used one around $200 if you look around.
