    I need a 1955 Remington 870 receiver to 3.0" Magnum

Who are top gunsmith that will make it look factory done? Or should I sent it to Remington to have the work performed at the factory? 1955 is the first year they made the Remington 870. and I have a Brand new factory 18.0" New from Remington 3 years ago.

    Start here. http://briley.com

Why you have specified a 1955 receiver is not clear. I suggest that you clarify your request. The link that I provided sends you to one of the nations top shotgun specialists. They turn out premium products. Be prepared to pay a premium price. I'm 99.9% certain that Remington would not alter one of their products.

I'm not sure I understand either. Is he trying to use a 3 year old barrel on a 60 year old gun?

I have 2 different lengths Hunting barrels from 60's-70's. My father bought me a new barrel back in 1977 for a used 1955 shotgun for dove hunting and one for hunting in woods for deer. And 3 years I bought from remington a 18.0'' barrel for it. They were the cheapest priced.

Let's try one more time... You have an old 2 3/4" 870 and you want to use a barrel with a 3" chamber on it. Is this correct?

Are you say it will be cheaper to buy a new or used Police 870. I am a FFL dealer.

I would have concerns about an old 870 non-magnum receiver being strong enough for 3" shells.
