Good vertical foregrips for AR pistols?

I'm looking for a vertical foregrip for my AR pistol and most I've found seem to be too long. Recommendations are welcome.

You cannot legally put a vertical grip on a pistol. Doing so creates an unregistered AOW. You might want to Google it to be sure, as I'm not an NFA lawer, but that's my understanding.

You cannot do a vertical foregrip because it would become an NFA item.

You can do an angled one.

If the AR pistol has an OAL of greater than 26 inches then it is not a "pistol", but is a "firearm" and can have a VFG on it. Franklin Armory had a factory AR pistol with a VFG they were selling called the "XO-26". Under 26" and you are in NFA territory. ATF has issued a letter from FTB on this:

The only caveat to that is that state laws may be different, so don't **** yourself by being in the clear with federal laws, but not state laws.

Well, the way it was explained to me, technically it was never a "pistol", not legally, but merely a "firearm", even if it is referred to as a pistol.

An AR15 "pistol", is not a Pistol by ATF definition. It is a Firearm. Consequently, so long as the overall length is at least 26", it isn't Concealable, unless it is actually found to be concealed. As in, you are found to be carrying it on a single point sling under your overcoat/duster. Then it doesn't matter that it isn't a Pistol and the length exceeds 26". It becomes an AOW, and unless you registered it, an illegal AOW.

    I find this topic frightening.

Too prancey-dancey to the edge for yours, truly.

Unless I had a letter from the Technology Branch personally clarifying this, I wouldn't even dream of sinking my ding dong in that bees nest.
