Scope base question

I have a Remington 700 AAC-SD (.308) on layaway with a Meopta scope on order for it. As far as base/rings. I came across the below style:

In theory at least, single-piece base and rings should be a bit sturdier than a two-piece setup, but what are the pros/cons of such an arrangement on the Remmy 700 AAC-SD?

IMO, avoid them on a 700 action. A one-piece mount should be used and bedded to the receiver.

Given with how much variance a factory Remington 700 receiver has in it, I would only use a one piece base as you are able to identify any gap and bed it. Thus alleviating flex. By using a two piece base you will never know if they are on the same plane which can result in adding flex to the scope tube.

Rem 700 receivers are banana shaped, put a straight edge against one and you can see for yourself. I prefer to bed a one piece base. Put your rings on and check em with a lapping bar. Or go with a two piece base and check with a lapping bar. Either way, if you don't want your scope bent/stressed you are going to want to do something.

The hardest part of bedding a scope base is getting over the fact that your are putting epoxy very near to the expensive part of your rifle. Fill everything with putty and cover in release agent and you will be fine.
The longest part of the whole process is letting the epoxy cure.

Do it once, see how easy it really is, and you will find yourself way more ready and willing to bed things in the future.

Did you read it? Can you explain how a two piece base would account for variance in the top of your receiver?

I have a full custom 700 Remington with a seekins 1 piece base with 20 moa cant. then a spurh sp 4002 mount for my Schmidt. it seems to work great.
