Is there a trick to searching for posts and thread titles with key words that contain only 2 characters (i.e. 2A and B5)?

I run my own vBulletin-based board and have no trouble with the vBulletin search function you describe, but I have never found the one on this site to be functional. You're limited to the Google-based search in the top header.

The search is terrible. It was way more effective before they updated the site, but that was years ago. If I want to search anything, I usually go to google and search it by the site. I don't know why that works better but it seems to.
