There are several things about this barrel I appreciate. I was shooting it today, confirming my zero for a match next weekend. One thing I noticed is that there was no heat mirage from the barrel after extended strings of fire. Second I could touch the barrel after 15-20 rounds. It was not comfortable per se, however it it was not 'burn you skin hot'. This may be pay off in some way in the future.

The cost is hard to swallow at first, I think is is worth waiting and saving to get what I want.

Having said that, I have two other rifles with Noveske barrels. They are sweet shooters at 1/2 the price. Just a bit heavier is all.

After today's range session, I am really happy. My best group was 1/2" at 100 yards confirming my zero. A coupe others were 5/8", it was a lot of fun.

The older I get, it is hard to put a price tag on joy. To me this was a few hundred dollars well spent.

Any update on how that Noveske RCA 5.56 Black Nitride Bolt Carrier Group is holding up? Thinking about picking one up.

It has not been a problem at all. I have been treating this rifle about how I treat my lawn mower. OK, I do run a bore snake down the bore at the end of a range session. Other than that it is slip 2000 and trigger time. I estimate about 2K rounds so far.

Thanks for the update, I ended up going with a sionics BCG but I'll keep it in mind in case I decide to switch over. I'm doing a similar build but using a Faxon barrel in 6.5 Grendel instead.

I am not sure what happened to the picture. Hopefully this will work.
