Noveske Parts with 20” Proof Research Barrel

I built this rifle primarily for Limited Division competition for the PRS Gas Gun Series, and for a few Rifleman’s Team Challenge matches coming up in 2017. So far in testing is has been a terrific shooter, I could not be more pleased with the overall performance.

For these competitions, the max distance will be 1,000 yards. The Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50 has worked well so far out to 1KM. I can’t see myself shooting effectively beyond this range. I am sure others could do much better.

In any case I have been shooting .5” - .75” MOA groups with 5.56 IMI 77 Grain SMK factory ammo. Target Sports USA had this on sale around Thanksgiving so I bought a bunch. This ammo’s average speed is 2,765 FPS.

The Upper receiver, lower receiver, NSR Hand Guard and Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard were all finished in Magpul FDE Cerakote by BXC Coating in Everett, WA. (http://www.bxccoatings.com/)

This picture is not very good. The Cerakote has a very matt finish.

consistent performance at 1,000 from a 5.56 gas gun? I know it is possible, but just not very common, so I am impressed! Nice looking rifle with great parts too, well done

I'm not into 5.56 long range setups, but damn that is a fine rifle.

Word. OP keep us updated on that BCG. I want one for my Noveske but I haven't heard the best thing about RCA. I'd hope those are solid since they have the Noveske logo.

That is a nice build. Do you single load or use magazines? I was trying to figure out why you have the Hoptic USA KeyMod 5.56 2 round quiver.

Why all of the Noveske parts and no Noveske barrel? Just wondering.
In no way do I make any money from anyone related to the firearms industry.

The 2 round quiver, is for competition. More than once I have needed one more round. This is faster than a reload.

This is sort of a grail build for me, for me that meant Proof Research barrel. I have Noveske barrels in a few other rifles and have no complaints.

Thanks for the heads up, I have this same BCG is two other Noveske builds, I will keep an eye on it. My 16" rifle must have 7,000-8,000 rounds on it by now, with one bolt re-build. I don't recall any issues off the top of my head.

I have an RCA BCG on my AR15 with somewhere around 2,100 rounds and so far so good. Bought it early 2013.

This is my first Cerakote rifle. I am pretty happy with the results so far.
I am just a regular guy, trying not to screw things up too much.
