    Carbon Fiber handguard?

    Ok,
So I"m piecing together my Aero M5 build. I have an AP Custom 15" tactical (has top rail installed) carbon fiber handguard. Any reason to not use it and go with something else? Strength? Rigidity? Thoughts?

I have an AP Custom gen 2 in rifle length I've been happy with it. I only use that gun for hunting the temp neutral carbon fiber is great for cold weather.

I'm looking at these for the same reason. Are there any durability issues with CF? Like bumping into stuff gouging it. I know it is thin, light, stiff and strong...wondering more about general toughness to abuse if that makes sense.

I ran across these as well, searching for something non-metal.

I have AA's carbon handguard on my 6.5 Grendel, I like it. The fit and finish is ok. My carbon Lancer is much nicer finish and look

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

If you are still shopping you could look at the new Faxon offering:

The only problem you might run into with the AP Custom rail is that if you need any kind of manufacturer support, you're SOL. They seem to have vanished from the face of the earth. The rails are great, though.

I have two ARs with carbon fiber free float tubes and I'm very happy with them. If you've already got the tube, run it and see if it suits your purposes. I don't like aluminum handguards because they get hot in the summer and cold in the winter

Exactly. Carbon is much nicer to handle.

If we can help in any way, please let us know!
