Winkler Knives II Sayoc RnD Axe - Tomahawk

Yesterday I posted some pictures of the knife my wife bought me for Christmas. Well today she went over the top for our 23rd Anniversary. Holy cow man, I can’t’ even believe this is happening! Clearly, I married extremely well.

The Axe feels great in the hand. The rubber handle material is awesome, wet or dry. The balance is pretty sweet. The tang is tapered from its heaviest at the head of the axe, narrowing to the end. I think this is what makes it feel “fast”.

It was not super sharp when shipped. Sharp mind you, but not super sharp. The owner of ‘The Epicurean Edge’ in Kirkland, Washington fixed that. It is now as sharp as any blade I own. That is to say it is other worldly sharp.

These crappy iPhone pics don’t do it justice. It is a work of Function American Art.

    Maker: Daniel Winkler
    Blade Size: 2 1/4"
    Total Head Size: 5 1/2"
    Total Length: 13"
Steel: 80CRV2 Carbon Steel - Black Caswell Finish
    Handle: Black Rubber
Sheath: Custom Felt Lined Kydex Sheath
    Weight: 1 lb. 9.8 oz.

    Chopping down saplings?
    Breaching doors?
    Scalping your enemies?

It does look really cool, though. I have a tomahawk, but I'll admit it was more of a trophy purchase than something practical that I use a lot.

    Excellent question.

Some people have paintings, or sculptures. I have this, and a few other nice sharp pointy things.

As LSHD said - fair enough! My question was one of genuine curiosity. I saw the price and thought there's no way any non-billionaire is using that in the woods!
