    7.62x25 Tok and modern pistols

Why isn't the 7.62x25 Tok loaded into a modern semi with modern expanding bullets? It is one nasty little round!

The overall length of the cartridge means it can't fit in most modern designs until you get to big blocky things like glock 21's. won't fit in a standard 1911 for example. When people buy big heavy guns I suspect they want big bullets to go along with them

The Tok is shorter than the .40 S&w

There was a 7.62x25 conversion for the 1911 but you needed a 38 super 1911 if I'm not mistaking.

40 is 10x22 with overall length of 28.8mm.

7.62 Tok is 7.62x25 with an overall length of 34mm

100% accurate. There is no reason to bother with 7.62Tok when you have .357Sig

Would the Tok with its smaller diameter bullet and higher velocity defeat body armor more easily?

I don't think you need a gun the size of a G21 since the Tokarev isn't that big and itself a copy of the Colt 1903.

There's really no point in it. The 7.62x25 produces about the same energy as a 40S&W. Some specialty ammo does reach into the 500 ft-lbs and some hollow points barely reach 9mm energy. Buy a 40 with a 357 SIG conversion and you have your Tok

There is the OTs-27 which is som like a crude looking S&W model 59. A few other countries made modern guns in that caliber but not many
