This rifle is very appealing to me as a big fan of Steyr weapons. Last week, I picked up an L9-A1 and love it. Previously, I had an S9-A1 but let it get away from me. Another will be purchased soon. The Steyr pistols fit my hand very well and I shoot them much better than the Glock pistols.
Steyr is changing some things up and the next couple years will be interesting. Start saving your pennies. I'll be picking up one of the new Austrian AUG barrels when they become available. The STM556 is going to get me back into the AR type platform, even though it isn't really an AR.

Well, nobody at Steyr USA has ever asked if I was Jewish or not. I do have a very Jewish name and they know it, as it's on every invoice and my account with them. They don't seem to mind. As for Steyr Austria I can't say. I've never had any contact with them.

The Austrians are not known for being intelligent. Yoni, they admire the Uzi. Take a look at the MPI-69 and 81. ayn-seh-chel. Ma-la-ah-sot. mashugana (zevel) - dreck.

I can sympathize that someone felt slighted by unkind comments regarding their heritage/nationality/religion, but it is not germane to this discussion. Further, personally knowing some of the guys in Alabama who work at Steyr, nothing leads me to believe that there is any antisemitism permeating their corporate culture.
Getting back to the topic, if this were offered as a pistol, would people be happy with 16" barrels or would a shorter barrel be preferred?
