Question Holster Help- Minimalist J-Frame Holster

Is anyone here aware of a minimalist holster for the J-Frame? Specifically, I'm looking for a trigger guard style, like the Vanguard. It could be a purely "static line" style or have a belt/waistband attachment.

    Why?
This would be used almost exclusively for carrying in a backpack or waistpack for running. At present I carry a 442 or a 642 in a pocket holster in either a Camelbak Ambush or a FlashFlo. It works, but I'd prefer to have something that protects the trigger and trigger guard, and gives me an option of AIWB.

I saw what I thought was an RCS Vanguard 2 for a J a few years back. When I contacted RCS, it didn't sound like they were going to see production, and I haven't seen one since. I suspect that with the width of the cylinder in relation to the grip and trigger guard, a belt attachment would be problematic, but it would not see much use as a belt holster.

So, anyone here have any suggestions or advice on the topic?

You might reach out to the gent that runs Dark Star Gear. He's done a lot of work with minimalist J-frame holsters. His wait times are also not ridiculous.

I have not seen him do exactly what you describe, but I don't think it is would be too difficult for him.

I did find this on eBay:

Not sure if that is an answer, since it does not have a clip.

Thanks for the two suggestions. I'm thinking that I'll reach out to Dark Star in the near future.

You might want to consider a Blade Tech Klipt holster. http://shop.blade-tech.com/product_i...6#.WGkxaIWcHx8 You could attach a tether to the hole at the rear of the holster.

I bought this for a Smith and Wesson 340 M&P. It works, but it is a very basic no frills holster.
