    My 16" Midlength Build

Just finished up my 16" midlength build, plan on it being my main rifle. This is my 3rd full build and i really like the way it turned out. Bought most parts new when they came on sale during the holidays and some from the EE. I wanted a simple 16" midlength rifle built with quality parts that would do just about anything i wanted and not be so expensive that id be afraid to use it. It will mainly be used for predator and some light hog hunting, till i build my 6.8 im collecting parts for, but i plan on taking some courses soon with it. Hopefully ill get my front sight in this week and get to test it out and sighted in. I plan on getting a vortex strike eagle for the time being until i can afford a trijicon 1-4x, then i will put the strike eagle on one of my cheaper guns.

Without knowing that port size, it's anyone's guess. But, my midlengths will run an H2 without effort and I run the H3 regularly.

Pretty sure he means A5. I have six carbines running the A5 system and all but two are running A5-H2. The two that run A5-H3 are over gassed. e.g. oversized gas port. (Noveske) I also should note that I prefer Springco green springs over the standard Vltor A5 spring. BTW; My last two are cryo treated. Not enough rounds fired at this point to tell if it really helps - but it sounds good in theory.

Anyway, the A5-H2 system is usually a good starting point.

Just got done at the range. Locked back everytime through about 20 mags with 5 roumds in them. Shot about 2" group at 100 yds with iron sights, less then 1" at 50yds. I was shooting 64gr .223 gdsp. Thats very good for my eye sight. Super happy with everything about it. Should be buying a 1-4x or 1-6x scope in the next couple weeks.
