What do you do with your full-size pistols?

If it's not a duty sidearm what do you do with it?

Carry it open? Concealed? House pistol? Vehicle holster pistol? Competition? Training new shooters? Hunt?

Was looking at getting another full size pistol but figured if It's not for any of the above there is no practical reason to have one.

Glock 17. My jeep is one huge pistol holster.

The Glock is also a bedside gun.

I carry my G17 concealed often in winter and open carry it when I'm at my cabin or out in the woods.. It is waiting on a Silencerco Octane before it starts spending more time as a house gun.

My FNX45 Tactical wears a Silencerco Osprey 24/7 and is my current bedside pistol.

Both get shot almost every time I go to the range.

Being in Texas I can't even carry a full size during the winter since the temp swings so bad (mid 70s tomorrow), so I carry a 19 year round.

My full size guns get used as range toys and competition guns except a G22 I carry as a hiking/camping/hunting backup gun.

Yes- all of the above minus hunting.

    Yes.

    I have a shield I use about 40 days a year.
    The bow is for hunting.

G17 AIWB, all day erryday. I use them for anything. Concealed carry, house gun (prefer to have a long gun out, though), I don't compete but would use it, I let new shooters use it and compare it to other guns. Every new shooter, especially every woman I've introduced to shooting, wants a tiny little pocket pistol... until they shoot one and try a "compact" (normal sized) gun or a full size gun.

House pistol, training and fun. Not everything in life needs to have a "practical use". Get one for fun use.
