I haven't seen those small memorandum notepads in a long while. But I sure remember filling up more than I can even remember. Talk about taking me back. Mine were a really dark green. They fit perfect in the top right pocket of my BDU's.

The ones bound on the side fit in the back pocket of my jeans. I carry one at work to keep track of what the minions need to focus on.
I liked the ones that were bound on the top, they fit perfect into the top pocket on the slant-pocket jungle utilities. Easier to get in and out of a plastic bag as well.
