Came across these last week. NOS FN M16A4 upper, seems like a pretty good price, so I went ahead and ordered one, pretty happy with it. https://www.oowinc.com/product/fn-m16a4-upper-nos/

That is a darn good price for all of that.

Could you confirm if the one you ordered has the Cerro keyhole forge mark on the upper like the website photos? I’ve been looking for one like that to match one I carried in Iraq. Thanks!

What’s up with the staking on those BCG’s? Also, issued guns do not have CHF barrels.

Boomerdawg, thanks for the reply and for the link. I ordered one last night after talking with OOW - they confirmed that they could ship me a Cerro keyhole marked upper. That’s the first time I’ve seen a Cerro-marked FN M16A4 upper receiver for sale. While I don’t have closeup photos of the specific rifle that I was issued back in 2005, my impression from looking at photos is that earlier M16A4s were marked that way. I probably shouldn’t have spent the money, but it was a great price (most uppers don’t come with a $100 carry handle), and it will get me a lot closer to building a clone of my issued rifle. Thanks!

Gorgeous rifle. Great inspiration for a build I’m doing. Same thing, I’m just stuck with a large pin A2 upper receiver. As soon as I get my A4, she’ll be irons only.

Stupid question... what's the milspec for the adjustable-stock option on M16A4? I know it's coded as coming from ARDEC, but haven't been able to find anything beyond that--is it as simple as the field-expedient "slap on an M4 tube/telestock/buffer assembly" I've read about having been done as an expedient measure in the field, or something else entirely?
