Newly minted Secretary of Defense James Mattis celebrated his first full day at the Pentagon by presiding over 31 strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Mattis entered the Pentagon Saturday with a smile for his first full day of work, and for good reason, considering the significant bombardment ISIS forces received.

A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq. In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist group’s de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.

If he doesn't outright roll back the women-in-infantry/SOF thing (of course Trump will have to okay it), I'd like to see him call the heads of all four services in and tell them he will court-martial anyone he finds out fudges, pads, or otherwise alters standards. No, you won't be allowed to retire, you will be freaking COURT-MARTIALED.

Those that don't do not. It's not rocket surgery. If a woman can make it through Selection, or BUDs or whatever and can pull her weight who cares if she had a penis or vagina. If she acts in a manner unbecoming or detrimental to unit effectiveness she gets treated the same as a guy doing the same. People need to stop making mountains out of pebbles.

I believe I already hit all those points in my original post.

1) Has to come from Trump to undo it.

2) Court-martial, while not a USDB end-game, makes O-6's and above cringe.

3) If not completely undone, then enforcing current male standards for those jobs (not lowering them for everyone hoping some women make it) is the way to go.

4) BS Obama shoved down our throats, or as you say "political asshattery".

5) Also mentioned there are bigger fish to fry but this "minnow" needs fried too.

VOA Exclusive: Female Marine Joining Infantry Through Process Previously Closed to Women

One woman will make history next week as the first female Marine to join the infantry through the traditional entry-level training process that was previously unavailable to women, officials tell VOA.

Marine is finishing up her training as a mortarman and will graduate next week from the U.S. Marine Corps School of Infantry at Camp Geiger in eastern North Carolina, said Marine Capt. Joshua Pena, a spokesman for the Marine Corps Training and Education Command.
