If he doesn't outright roll back the women-in-infantry/SOF thing (of course Trump will have to okay it), I'd like to see him call the heads of all four services in and tell them he will court-martial anyone he finds out fudges, pads, or otherwise alters standards. No, you won't be allowed to retire, you will be freaking COURT-MARTIALED.

Low on the totem pole of immediate problems to solve. The solution to the whole women, gays, blah, blah is simple. Enforce the standards already in place. The people that meet standards move on. Those that don't do not. It's not rocket surgery. If a woman can make it through Selection, or BUDs or whatever and can pull her weight who cares if she had a penis or vagina. If she acts in a manner unbecoming or detrimental to unit effectiveness she gets treated the same as a guy doing the same. People need to stop making mountains out of pebbles.

Fudging facts and padding stats is a court martial offense. Same as lying to your superiors. May not be Leavenworth breaking rocks, but I wouldn't look good on your next promotion board. However, none of this originated out of the DOD. It's all political asshattery coming from D.C. so it will be up to Trump to squish before it makes it to Sec Def.

I believe I already hit all those points in my original post.

1) Has to come from Trump to undo it.

2) Court-martial, while not a USDB end-game, makes O-6's and above cringe.

3) If not completely undone, then enforcing current male standards for those jobs (not lowering them for everyone hoping some women make it) is the way to go.

4) BS Obama shoved down our throats, or as you say "political asshattery".

5) Also mentioned there are bigger fish to fry but this "minnow" needs fried too.

I understand why this is important to anyone who serves, and I completely agree on the equal standards stuff. But I'm not sure fudging numbers is a court martial offense, I would think a less than honorable discharge should suffice. I also don't think this is the most important issue for the military right now.

Right now we are killing bad guys, I think that should be our main focus.

I think there should be some exciting new opportunities in the military for progressive minded career DoD service members. We should establish a diverse new joint operating base in Point Barrow, AK, so as to test unified command practices in a challenging environment!

If he makes it clear that no standard will be altered in any way, shape, or form, then that is a direct order. A violation thereof is a court-martial offense (if he wanted to push it). Women in those positions isn't the biggest fish to fry right now for the DoD, but it does need fried because at some point in the future it WILL be an even bigger issue. He needs to deal with ALL the issues as SecDef, and that is indeed one of them. It is also one of the things Obama shoved down our collective throats so add it to the list of things needing "undone".

I have no problem with it being on the "to do" list, just saying first things first.
