No doubt their margins are slim and any cost improvements they can make are good. Excellent rifles. I will most likely purchase one of the new SLR-107-11's.

And underneath it is the mil spec coated steel. If you are interested in cosmetics when buying an AK, you might belong at the make-up counter of your closest department store. LOL.

From what I've gathered the Aresenal 'squid ink' paint that uses alcohol as a solvent is actually the same as the Sov used on the military AKs. If you're using the prescribed cleaner and oil the paint is perfectly fine. Brake cleaner or Easy Off, not so much.

Personal note, don't use those craptastic aftermarket triggers. Use the factory ones. They are supposed to be softer steel than the actual bolt carrier to avoid damage. Otherwise they will eat your bolt carrier group. I always buy the Arsenal trigger groups then surface the hammer face to remove that hardened layer- then replace as necessary to avoid damaging my carrier.

This seems like a new problem. I never had issues with mushroomed carriers. I don't change triggers or soften them up. Speaking of .....you say to use the original because the aftermarket ones will eat the carrier. At the same time you soften the original?
