Lol, well they do a background check, so they're sifting through some of it. My point is why? Its not a weapon. Its a tube that decreases sound. I've passed a background to obtain the weapon, why do I need to pass another one for an accessory that makes it less loud, not silent, not even quiet, just less loud. I'm pointing out the irony in requiring a state level check for the gun, and a federal level check for an accessory (that's how it is in my state). Just tax me the $200 because I know its about the money anyway, and give me my can. Thats my point and hopefully thats what happens. I predict that if it does happen many gun manufacturers will start collaborating with suppressor companies, or just buying them out, and we'll start seeing more integrated suppressor firearms or firearms that come standard with QD suppressor mounts.

Actually it's the FBI. And it's the same check that is conducted to purchase (wait for it...) and standard Title I firearm. Because the BATFE also call it a firearm.
