Gas port size for a 14.5" Colt socom barrel?

Anybody know what it might be? I've read it's .062 but just want to confirm. Thinking of building a dedicated suppressor gun with an existing barrel I own and cutting it to 11.5". I lack the tools to measure it myself in a precise manner.

    Thanks

The Colt carbine, 14.5/16 is a .063. That's the spec.

I recently measured 4 different SOCOM barrels and they were at .062.

Before cutting your SOCOM barrel, check into the AMTAC over the barrel suppressor
    https://amtacsuppressors.com/products/cqbm/

The CQB version will fit the SOCOM barrel and add only three inches to the length. It will be about the same length as a 10.5" or 11.5" barrel with a conventional suppressor but deliver the velocity of the 14.5" barrel and less pressure at the muzzle

.062 here and the most accurate/consistent barrel I have owned...can't brag on it enough.

You can cut it to 11.5", just letting you know it will look goofy because of the M203 notch and the diameter there is only .6". Colt made "SOCOM" diameter 11.5" barrels for the FBI IIRC. G&R Tactical and someone on Gunbroker had them for sale.

Thought about cutting to 10.5" to avoid that but wasn't sure if gas port size would need to be changed for dedicated suppressor use. I've read that .062" is perfect for 11.5" but not sure on 10.5".

The 11.5 FBI barrel was measured by grant to be .069 which will work better suppressed than standard ported 11.5. Might want to look into them as mentioned above.

0.062 is fine as dedicated suppressor host.

Looks like I need to update my notes. I got them from some bearded fella in Az. You might know him. :-)
