    Yes, they do.
    And basically the same powders and fairly heavy bullets (168s on the short line, 185s @ 600 and often even heavier @ 1,000) in 308 as well. Varget is a rather hot powder too and much more popular in both calibers than the even hotter N540. Those guys do pay for it in shorter barrel life.

    You can find a list of the heat values of various powders (I think it comes with QuickLoad) and choose a cooler powder than those two. I like N140.
