Don't overlook an older Rem 1187 or even one of the older 3 inch 1100's.You said light use. The current Winchester semi autos--though made in Turkey--have good reviews and are made under FN supervision. Browning's service dept handles warranty repair.

Beretta is my recommendation. A300 or if you're feeling fancy a 1301. They're for sale on several sites in your budget. Very reliable semis.
