I had been thinking about picking up one of their other collaborations after selling my Kestrel years ago. does anyone have any hands on experience with the CRKT Rune? Pro's / Con's with similarly priced hawks? I know it's small, but I'd like to trade the size for weight savings.

The Rune is CRKT's variation on RMJ's Little Bird tomahawk and would be an excellent low cost alternative if for general purpose use. If you're going to bet your life on this tool, pass on it and get an RMJ Pathfinder. If you're looking for something less serious, the Rune should work just fine as an all around/camp/kindling/cutter.
