    Question RMR - 3.25 or 6.5 MOA Red-Dot on a Glock Pistol???

I am looking to purchase a Trijicon RMR for target shooting (mostly steel, dueling tree, etc. along with wanting precision on paper targets) and am sure I want the 3.25 MOA dot as most I know use that ... but I am wondering what the benefit to the 7.5 MOA may provide and if there are many guys who use the RM07 6.5 MOA dot over the more popular 3.25 MOA dot and why? Thanks so much for the info and help!

I have run both the 3.25 dot and the 6.5 dot and find I prefer the 3.25 for more precise shots inside of and out past 25 yards. Pretty much the same reason when I switched from 4moa to 2moa dots on my AP Micros, I just prefer the smaller dots.

Ya I am 99% sure I will be going with the 3.25moa dot ... just wanting to see if some use the 6.5moa and why.

Thanks so much for the reply drtywk.

Wife uses a 6 MOA razor on her steel pistol. At furthest range it's about a 2" dot on a 10" plate. It's not a precision game, that's all she uses it for, and it is perfect for that.. It depends on whether you have other performance considerations and how far out you intend to go.

I own the RMR07 (7.5) and RMR06 (3.25) both are on Glocks that are set up the same and I much prefer the 3.25 as I personally find the smaller dot easier to make more accurate shots with.

I'd always opt for the smaller dot, if you want it to appear larger you can dial it up and it will "bloom".

How many of you dudes are getting 3"-4" groups at 100m?

I have the 3.25 dot and like it. Not sure group size has an impact, at least not for me. I wanted the smallest dot I could quickly pick up.

except that's not relevant. It's a balance of visibility with target obstruction. Whether rifle or handgun.
