    Flynn's job in jeopardy?

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/michael-...ssador-to-u-s/
    A senior U.S. official says the Obama administration is aware of frequent contacts between President-elect Donald Trump’s top national security adviser and Russia’s ambassador to the United States, and Trump transition spokesman Sean Spicer revealed what was talked about on some of the calls.
    An update published in the Washington Post, citing a Trump official, said Flynn spoke to Kislyak by phone before the sanctions were announced, and the conversation did not cover the sanctions. The Trump official later told the Post that Flynn expressed condolences to Kislyak over the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey on Dec. 19 and then made a second call on Dec. 28 to express condolences for the crash of a Russian plane traveling to Syria and to set up the call with Putin.

    National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s job security is in jeopardy, CBS News has learned, and White House policy adviser Stephen Miller’s studied non-defense of Flynn illustrates a new level of isolation from Trump and his inner circle.

    Flynn’s deception about conversations with the Russian ambassador about Obama administration sanctions have deeply soured his relationship with Vice President Mike Pence. Two sources with direct knowledge of the situation describe Pence as aggravated by Flynn’s decision to deceive Pence -- forcing him to say things on Flynn’s behalf on “Face The Nation” and other shows that have proven to be untrue.
    Another source said Flynn may have a few more weeks as the White House is still trying to find its balance on the immigration executive order as well as other foreign policy matters. White House lawyers and senior staff worked through the weekend on a revised order, and the timing of its release had not been determined by Sunday night.

    Flynn’s problems are not limited to the conversation with the Russian ambassador, although that has brought misgivings about his conduct to a crisis point. Senior White House advisers were disappointed with the conduct of Flynn’s son during the transition (he was fired on Trump”s direct orders‎ for retweeting falsehoods about Comet pizzeria in D.C. and the Clinton campaign).

    Two things;
    Considering the ongoing drama concerning our own foreign relations during the Obama Administrations actions with Libya and Mexico honestly? Now the Left has some self righteous indignation?
    Why wasn't Flynn smart enough to come forward and say "Our policies will be markedly different in the future." Now how hard is that?

    American Politics has fallen to a new level of stupid...

    I mentioned in the 100 days thread that it's the lies, not the actual calls, that are killing him. No reasonable person cares if the incoming National Security Adviser calls his foreign contemporaries. At the same time, reasonable people will find it hard to believe that the topic of sanctions never came up, or that he can't now remember if they did.

    "Two sources with direct knowledge of the situation describe Pence as aggravated..."

    I have not faith in their secret sources at this point and HC didn't lose her job - nor even have the class to offer her resignation - after getting a US ambassador and his staff killed.

    This comes under not sh&%s given for me.

    By the standards of the left (Clapper), no. By the standards the left holds Trump to? Yes.

    I don't think Flynn is in near-term danger of losing his job. It would look too bad for the Administration at this point. I believe Obama replaced his first NSA fairly quickly, but it will be seen as a major debacle by many if Trump did so.

    I believe he has probably marginalized himself within the administration and with our Allies of any importance. I think that Bannon has become the de facto NSA. Not sure what role his Deputy NSA, McFarland, plays in all this.

    Nothing that this Administration does, has done, or will do will not pass without criticism.
    The need to;
    Always tell the truth or use "No Comment" as their standard reply to critical media outlets.
    Close Ranks and learn to trust one another because they clearly have those within the media living for a crisis.
    Keep all criticism "In House."
    Purge the Press seats available to those who would rather "make" the news rather than report it.
    Always remind the media of their double standard when it comes to reporting.

    I'm going to default to, had Flynn worked for me I would have stood up for him and explain that was the message I wanted delivered to the Russians and I feel the Obama Administration were acting like petulant children.

    I agree they need to close ranks but I don't see it happening. First, Trump can't keep himself off of Twitter. Then, you've got Trump's personal friends such as Chris Ruddy going on CNN and blaming the Administration's issues on weak leadership from Reince Preibus. That didn't happen in a vacuum and it doesn't help things one bit. It just makes people think that Trump is trying to scapegoat his subordinates.

    So, you've got a media vested in making Trump look incompetent and dishonest coupled with Trump's ego that that can't let shit go. I'm just waiting for the big test that will surely come since every new POTUS gets one; Bush had 9/11 and Obama had the Gulf oil spill. Then, we will get to see if Trump is up to the task.

    Meanwhile during the Obama years.

    It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

    This is an attempt to make this Administration look like bumbling amateurs.
    Fast and Furious, nearly overlooked, when it could no longer be overlooked, it was explained away by the Administration with no small amount of assistance by the media. Hillary's dealing inside Libya with Sydney Blumenthall ( an outright untouchable by the Obama Administration) went relatively un or under reported. Susan Rice had multiple out right lies and moments of total incompetence, yet remained unscathed.
    Someone might want to start setting down some rules inside this Administration, abiding by them and then pointing out the hypocrisy of the situation when dealing with the MSM.
