I had an Issue with my Glock MOS that had been cerakoted and had a match grade barrel in it. It worked fine with the factory barrel so I got rid of the other barrel.

Couple questions:
Was this a factory cerakote job or done aftermarket?
Was the barrel also cerakoted?
Name brand of the barrel would help as would the issue with the gun.
I’ve got a G17 slide that’s been Cerakoted. I haven’t put a lot of rounds through it (maybe 300) since then but it’s run fine since. I am also running an aftermarket barrel (Wilson).
I am no Cerakote expert, but it’s only .0005”-.0010” thick. I don’t know how many coats are required, however.
I suspect it may be more of a barrel issue than the Cerakote. I have a M&P Cerakoted, no issues.
After market appications of some coatings some times reqiure another "break-in" period. Changing out Bbl sometimes brings other issues to table. I had Robar do a few pistols in 90s that still look great but definetly required a few boxes of ammo to cycle through to mate everything again.
I had my Colt Government .38 SA coated a few years back. No issues until I decided to run a 2000 round no new lube, no cleaning test. When it got dirty there were some issues with a certain ammo make and my two Checkmate mags. After cleaning I noticed that the feed ramp coating was chipped in places. I had a GS polish the feed ramp and breach face. No issues since. I relegated the two offending mags to dry fire/training/reloading drills duty. Still happy with the finish.
