Bolt SIZES????

I SEARCHED A LITTLE BIT, I WILL ADMIT, NOT A LOT.
MY QUESTION IS for instance, a bolt for an AR.... specs will say .223 .556 and 300.

what about head space when checking with the guages? i.e. go, no-go, field.
won't you run into issues there like different results?

All three of those calibers use the same basic AR15 bolt.

They all use their own headspace gauges as well. In a 5.56 chamber/bolt combo you would check headspace with 5.56 headspace gauges, it's caliber specific not bolt specific.

Think about a Remington 700 rifle with a standard 308 bolt face in it.... can chamber probably 100 different calibers with that one bolt, but you would always match your headspace gauge to the chamber of your barrel.
